The Ski Jumping season 2010/2011 is officially beginning with the FIS Grand Prix that traditionally - for the 12th time - begins in Hinterzarten (GER) on Saturday 7th August with a team competition.

The FIS Grass Skiing Junior World Championships 2010 will be held from 1st to 6th August 2010 in Dizin, Iran.

While many in the Northern Hemisphere are at the beach, the racing season in the Southern Hemisphere is about to get going.

The 1st ever FIS Freestyle Skiing South American Cup (SAC) will be taking place this September.

The FIS Alpine Training Camp program 2010 in Europe is currently underway.

The FIS Freestyle & Snowboard Junior World Championships 2010 marks the first time that the disciplines of Snowboarding and Freestyle have been carried out together at official FIS World Championships. It is also the first time a FIS World Championship has taken place in New Zealand.

The first official site inspection for the City Parallel Event that will be carried out as part of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup 2010/2011on 2nd January 2011 took place on Monday, 19th July 2010 in the Munich Olympic Park (GER) on 2nd January 2011.

The start of the FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix 2010 is approaching rapidly. The competitions in Oberstdorf (GER) are scheduled for 7th-8th August whilst Oberwiesenthal (GER) will serve as the second host venue on 13th-14th August.

Traditionally, the Final Climb features the overall decision in one of the season's main highlight events in Cross-Country Skiing. This year, a popular race for a limited number of starters will be organized that will follow the same course as the stars race the same day.

While most of the Northern Hemisphere , notably central Europe has been experiencing an unusually long heat wave which has even led to earlier than planned closures of some glacier ski resorts in the very North, the Southern Hemisphere has seen a promisingly cold start to the winter.

Supported by the FIS Aid & Promotion program, the FIS Alpine Training Camp in South America has been taking place since 10th July and will continue until 9th August 2010.
